On Wednesday, March 3rd, the District received bids for the High School Renovation project which will extend over a period of 2 and one half years. The project includes demolition of certain areas of the current high school, construction, and renovation in other areas. Because of the complexity of the project and the need to continue with high school classes, the District is naming Chad Schumacher, currently principal at Linn Grove, as the District’s project manager for the High School Renovation Project. He will work with the High School administration as well as the general contractor on the construction part of the project and also collaborate with the High School administration and the LRC on high school classes that are moved to accommodate the renovation work. His responsibilities will officially begin on April 1st, part time until the end of the school year and will become full time beginning July 1st for the next 2 and one half years.
In the 2 month interim, Chad Buchholz, associate principal at Excelsior Middle School, will substitute in the mornings at Linn Grove with Chad Schumacher returning to Linn Grove in the afternoons. Chad Buchholz will return to Excelsior in the afternoons, as well. Substituting for Chad Buchholz at Excelsior in the mornings at Excelsior will be Kristi Hicks, Director of Early Childhood. These assignments are for the duration of the school year.

At Linn-Mar we're trying a new 'green' strategy to keep our students' backpacks a little more organized by sending home less paper. The solution? The Virtual Backpack! To find Linn-Mar's Virtual Backpack, go to this web address:
Make sure to BOOKMARK the page for approved flyers on your computer and check it on a regular basis.
We're hoping that the Virtual Backpack will be a useful tool in keeping open lines of communication between home and school while keeping those backpacks a little by neater!
