What is the Student Notification System (SNS)?
SNS is used to notify the district's patrons about important information concerning the Linn-Mar Community School District. The most frequent use of the system is to send notification of late starts, cancellations, and early dismissals due to weather conditions. It has also been used to provide notice of cancellation of events that affect the entire Linn-Mar community, as well as individual buildings. How can I receive these notifications? Go to the registration page of SNS. You will be asked how you want to receive the notifications. Your options are:
You can sign up for as many of these as you choose. You will also be asked to identify which of the district's buildings your children attend, so you only get messages that concern your own family. It is important you keep track of your password, because the district is unable to track this information. When you want to change any of this information in the future, log in and make the necessary changes (e.g. when your children change buildings). When you move out of the district or you no longer want to receive these message, don't forget to log into the system and remove your information. Proceed to SNS for first-time registration.
