Alex Hajek

The following highlight was submitted by an 8th grade student at Excelsior.

Alex Hajek is one of the seventh grade social studies teachers at Excelsior Middle School. This is his fifth year at Excelsior and his eighth year of teaching overall.

He graduated from Linn Mar High School in 2004 and attended Coe College for his undergraduate studies. In 2016 he earned his Masters degree in Education. He coaches 7th and 8th grade track at Excelsior and sponsors multiple clubs, including the equality club, a safe space for LGBTQ students and an activist club.

He has made a huge impact of the lives of several students, most notably Excelsior’s transgender population. His unique style of teaching and how much he supports his students makes his class a great environment for a variety of students.
