Luke Poellet

student Luke Poellet

Luke Poellet is a senior at Linn-Mar High School. Along with being an impressive student academically, Luke is the “go to person” for troubleshooting general “operator error” problems for technical equipment throughout the building.

He works tirelessly to assure that all systems are operating properly during a seemingly endless number of events in the performance centers at the High School.

If it involves a need for lighting, sound, cameras, digital display systems or a live broadcast, Luke is always there.

Before and after school you can find him in the Auditorium, Little Theatre, LMTV Studio or Linn-Mar Stadium making sure everything is working just right.

This past summer, after learning from the installers, Luke worked to train students and staff on new digital lighting and sound equipment being installed in the High School Auditorium.

It replaced analog equipment that had been in place for nearly 20 years.

Luke is now in the process of sharing his knowledge with a team of underclassmen who will assume his responsibilities after he graduates with the class of 2018, this spring.

In his spare time, Luke volunteers on the tech/backstage team at TCR-Theatre Cedar Rapids.

He is planning to pursue a career in Software Engineering at Iowa State University in the fall.
