Boulder Peak 6th Grade Band Honored
The Iowa Bandmasters Association (IBA) has selected the 6th Grade Band from Boulder Peak Intermediate for a very special honor.
The band, under the direction of Amy Kraeplin, has been invited to perform at the 96th Annual IBA Conference. The event takes place in Des Moines in mid-May.
This is the highest honor a band can receive in the state of Iowa. Each year schools from around the state submit audition recordings for consideration, and only one elementary level (5th and/or 6th grade) band is chosen to perform at this prestigious event attended by nearly every elementary, middle school, high school, and college band director in the state.
The Boulder Peak 6th graders are one of six school bands from across the state that will perform at the conference. It is the second year in a row that Linn-Mar musicians will perform at the event.
