Calendars Ready? 2019-20 Theatre Dates Announced

The stage is set for another exciting year of theatre at LMHS!

The High School Fine Arts Department is proud to announce the dates of theatre performances for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year!

Thespian logoThe year begins with the Thespian Dessert Theatre. Performances are set for Thursday, October 3rd and Friday, October 4th. Enjoy a dramatic production featuring our most experienced performers and choose from an incredible array of delicious desserts served at intermission. Please note: Activity passes are not accepted for this production.

Our second production is geared toward our youngest theatre patrons.

Lion king logoThe Linn-Mar Children’s Musical will take the stage Friday, November 15th and Saturday, November 16th in the Linn-Mar High School Auditorium.

A talented cast will present Disney’s Lion King Jr. All tickets are just $3.00 per person and will be available at the door. Activity passes are accepted for this show.

 

While the Children’s Musical is in production in the Auditorium, another performance will be in rehearsal in the Little Theatre. 

Fall play

The Fall Play will run Thursday, December 5th and Friday, December 6th in the Linn-Mar High School Little Theatre.

Tickets are $5.00 per person and will be available at the door.

Activity Passes will be accepted for this show.

The incredibly wide range of Linn-Mar theatrical talent is showcased at our first stage event of 2020.

Night of Speech graphicThe Night of Speech is scheduled for Tuesday, January 21st, 2020 at 6:00 PM in the Linn-Mar High School Little Theatre and Performance/Lecture Hall.

It’s a final “dress rehearsal” for our students before they compete in the Iowa High School Speech Association Large Group District Contest in Monticello the following Saturday. Students perform in the categories of One Act Play, Musical Theatre, Choral Reading, Improvisation, Mime, Short Film Production, Television News Broadcasting, Radio Broadcasting and more.

Admission to The Night of Speech is free. Donations to support the Linn-Mar Contest Speech program are welcome.

 

After our 9th grade students have had a chance to work backstage earlier in the season, it’s time for them to showcase their stage talents in their very own production.

Freshman PlayThe Freshman Play is set for Thursday, March 5th and Friday, March 6th at 7:00 PM in the Linn-Mar Little Theatre.

Tickets are $5.00 per person and will be available at the door. Activity passes are also accepted for this event.

 

 

The Linn-Mar theatre season wraps up the year with The Spring Musical.

Spring MusicalPerformances are set for Thursday, April 30th, Friday, May 1st and Saturday, May 2nd at 7:00 PM in the Linn-Mar Auditorium.
This show brings together the talents of our stage performers, selected members of the Linn-Mar Orchestra and our amazing sound, lighting and stage crews.

Tickets for the Spring Musical will be available online approximately three weeks prior to opening night. Activity passes are not accepted for this event.

The titles of the remaining performances will be announced once performance rights are secured. Due to copyright restrictions, personal recordings of any of our Linn-Mar theatrical productions is prohibited.
