Coach Streicher Honored

Linn-Mar is very fortunate that our head wrestling coach is now in his 26th year! Doug Streicher has over 400 dual wins, has been named class 3A coach of the year twice and has had many state place winners and state qualifiers.  

Mr. Streicher was recognized during a brief ceremony during the Linn-Mar Dual Tournament. Linn-Mar High School Athletic Director Tonya Moe told the crowd, “What stands out to me about Coach Streicher are all the relationships he has created with his wrestlers over these years.” Many alumni and former assistant coaches were on hand to join in the celebration. “That is a testament to you, Coach Streicher, and is, in my mind, what a true coach is all about” said Moe.

Coach Streicher later commented,”Taking the wrestling job at Linn-Mar in 1997 has been a blessing to me and my family in so many ways. I can’t imagine my life without my Linn-Mar Wrestling Family. I am thankful for everyone who played a part in the last 25+ years”.
