Excelsior 6th Grade Concert Band Honored

The Excelsior Sixth Grade Band has been selected to perform at this year’s Iowa Bandmasters Association (IBA) Conference held annually in Des Moines.

This is the highest honor a band can receive in the state of Iowa! The band will perform on Thursday, May 14 at 3:00 pm in the “Iowa Ballroom” of The Des Moines Marriott Downtown.

Parents, grandparents, relatives, and friends are all welcome and highly encouraged to attend this free concert. Each year schools from around the state submit audition recordings for consideration.

Only one fifth/sixth grade band in the entire state is chosen to perform at this prestigious event attended by every elementary, middle school, high school, and college band director in Iowa.
