Jazz Band Members Chosen for All-State
Six LMHS students have been selected for Class 4A Iowa All-State Jazz Band status. Two students were accepted into the band and four students are designated as alternates. The Class 4A Iowa All-State Jazz Band selects 20 students for this band from all across the state after submitting a blind audition.
Selected for the band:
Moosa Hamad (12th Grade – Trumpet)
James Qualben (11th Grade – Trumpet)
They will perform with the band at the Iowa Bandmasters conference on Thursday May 12th at 3:30pm at the Downtown Marriott Hotel in Des Moines.
The following students were selected as alternates for the band:
Braeden Dupree (12th Grade – Trombone)
Christian Maakestad (11th Grade – Guitar)
Evan Shanley (10th Grade – Bari Sax)
Nick Reuben (12th Grade – Trumpet)
This is a very select group and we are very proud of our students for auditioning and receiving well-deserved recognition!
