Linn-Mar is proud to recognize the volunteers who generously gave their time and energy throughout the school year. Volunteers play a vital role in supporting students, staff and programs across the district.

Linn-Mar Volunteer Receives Governor’s Volunteer Award
Linn-Mar also congratulates Matt McDowell, who received a Governor’s Volunteer Award from Gov. Kim Reynolds and Lt. Gov. Chris Cournoyer during a special ceremony held June 4 in Urbandale.
McDowell was honored with an individual service award for contributing nearly 1,200 volunteer hours over the past nine years. He has supported students from elementary classrooms to the high school Venture Academics programs, always striving to build relationships and make a difference in the school community.
The Governor’s Volunteer Award program, coordinated by Volunteer Iowa, is now in its 41st year. More than 290 awards were presented in 2024 to volunteers across 96 Iowa communities.
