Linn-Mar to Close for Four Weeks

Upon discovery of the existence of substantial community spread of COVID-19 in Iowa, Governor Reynolds recommended on March 15, 2020, that Iowa schools close for four weeks.

Linn-Mar Community School District is following the Governor’s recommendation and is closing school, effective immediately.

We understand that this will create an inconvenience and, in cases, a hardship for many in our school district and we do not take that lightly. We are doing everything we can to respond proactively and effectively to the pandemic, while connecting our families with the necessary services. The Public Health Department recommends families work together during this difficult time to assist with childcare during working hours.

Governor Reynolds will be making another public announcement today (3-16-20) and we will communicate with families, again, following those remarks with details regarding how we will move forward together in the coming weeks.
