Marching Lions off to a Strong Start
Linn-Mar hosted one of Iowa’s largest marching band festivals on Saturday, September 23rd with over 2,300 students performing at Linn-Mar Stadium. The tremendous hospitality of our community was on full display. It was an outstanding day.
The Marching Lions had two fantastic performances Saturday, as well, with an exhibition performance at the Linn-Mar Marching Band Festival and a very strong performance Saturday night at the Marion Marching Invitational.
The group swept the caption awards including Best Winds, Best Color Guard, Best Percussion, and Best Drum Majors, and received 1st place in Class 4A. Their score of 93.6 (out of 100) was one of the highest scores on record in program history.
