New Schools to Benefit From Collins Aerospace Grant
Collins Aerospace and the Linn-Mar Community School District have grown together over the past 70 years.
Now, thanks to a grant from the Collins Retired Volunteers in Iowa (CRVI), in cooperation with Collins Aerospace, Linn-Mar will be able to enhance the educational needs of our students well into the future.
The grant will be used to provide 3D printers at the district’s two new intermediate buildings, Hazel Point and Boulder Peak, which are currently under construction. In accepting the grant, Linn-Mar Director of Innovations Bob Read said, “Kids in these buildings will be able to dive right into STEM-related activities and design, print, and test their products”.
Hazel Point and Boulder Peak will serve the district’s 5th and 6th grade students. Both buildings are set to open in August, 2020.
