Superintendent Bisgard Welcomes New Teachers

A total of 41 new teachers and counselors will join the Linn-Mar family this school year.

That includes 13 elementary school teachers for our seven buildings, 12 new instructors assigned to the district’s two middle schools, and 13 new teachers at the high school. In addition, two more ELL (English Language Learners) instructors will be joining the team.

New teachers meeting their new colleagues

Several of the new hires are very familiar with the district as they are returning Linn-Mar graduates. It’s a fact that Superintendent Bisgard says speaks volumes.

“It really says something that people feel so positive about their own educational experience that they would want to return to raise their own families and teach the next generation here at Linn-Mar.”

Superintendent Bisgard tells the new teachers he’s proud that as the district continues to grow, thanks to everyone’s help, we are able to maintain a sense of community.

Chief Human Resources Officer Karla Christian shares the meeting agenda with new teachers.

The two-day event covers district policies and procedures. It also includes meetings with teacher leaders and other support teams. It’s all to assure that the new teachers have everything they need for a successful start at Linn-Mar!

The event is co-sponsored by Farmers State Bank and Linn Area Credit Union who provided breakfast and lunch for the new team members.

The 41 new teachers bring our total to 547 classroom teachers and counselors across the district.

They’ll all be ready to Inspire Learning, Unlock Potential and Empower Achievement for all our students for the 2019-2020 school year and beyond.
