It’s transition time at Linn-Mar. The 4th-grade elementary students are learning about intermediate school and the 6th-grade intermediate students are learning about Middle School.
6th graders from Hazel Point gathered in the library at Oak Ridge. The school counselors talked to the kids about how some procedures are the same and some are different from what they are used to experiencing.
They shared how 7th graders are able to participate in a wide range of sports and extracurricular activities throughout the year.
The incoming students also had the opportunity to ask questions. One of the most common was about lockers.
The counselors reassured the students that adults will be available and the office staff is always there to get help for any lock issues they might encounter.
After the Q and A, 8th-grade volunteers served as tour guides for the remainder of the visit.
