Remodel of Current Learning Resource Center

High School Expands to Make Space for Additional Project-Based Learning Opportunities

The popularity of the district’s project-based learning courses and growth in other programs will lead to an expansion in high school classroom space this fall.

Beginning this summer the current Learning Resource Center (LRC), located at the corner of 10th St. and 29th Ave. will be redesigned to accommodate the growing needs in our district. The LRC building has served many roles over the years: it’s been an elementary, middle and high school for the district, and most recently has housed district administrators. The summer’s space remodel will redesign the space in a way that meets the needs of Venture Academics, ATLAS and Compass, and will accommodate more than 400 students.

Staff currently housed on the second level of the LRC will temporarily relocate to either Hazel Point Intermediate or Boulder Peak Intermediate to accommodate renovation plans.

New Administrative Building Opens This Fall

The administrators currently housed in the LRC will move to temporary district office locations during the summer before relocating to a new administrative building that’s being built near Excelsior Middle School. The administrative building will house district leadership and administrative functions like finance/payroll, human resources, technology and members of the cabinet, and also will include a new meeting space designed to help improve the district’s ability to live stream district meetings. The new administrative building has a target completion date of late September.
