Angie White
Angie is one of three visual arts teachers at Linn-Mar High School. She currently teaches all the ceramics courses and 3D Mixed Media.
Angie graduated from Mt. Mercy College, now Mt. Mercy University, in May of 2000. She began working in the district as a long term substitute in the visual arts department in September of 2000 and has remained ever since.
In May 2017 she graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with her master’s degree in Art Education. Angie has been in charge of the visual arts club for 16 years.
During the summer months, Angie teaches ceramics classes to kids at The Ceramics Center in Cedar Rapids.
This relationship with a community resource also allows her ceramic students to apply for summer internships or access to ceramics classes.
The Ceramics Center has also worked with past ceramic students by bringing workshops to Linn-Mar High School. In her spare time, Angie assists her mother who is a working artist at Maria’s Art in Monticello, Iowa.
When she is not working, she can be found traveling, reading, making art on her own and enjoying the company of her pets.
Angie is one of the many positive people at Linn-Mar. Her passion for her craft is very apparent and Linn-Mar students benefit everyday!
