Bus Accident

We want to inform you of an accident involving two of our buses this afternoon. It happened at C avenue and Brentwood Dr. NE in Cedar Rapids. Students from Hazel Point Intermediate and Oak Ridge Middle Schools were on the buses at the time.

The Cedar Rapids Police and Fire Departments were immediately contacted and were on the scene within minutes.

Three students were taken to area hospitals for treatment of their injuries. The remaining students were transported back to Oak Ridge Middle School. All parents were contacted and the students were taken home.

As always, the safety of our students and staff is our number one priority, We appreciate the quick work of the first responders and I admire the student and staff response to the incident and how well everyone followed our emergency procedure plan.
