The Linn-Mar Invention Convention Finalists

group of students holding certificates and ribbonsScience, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) programs are alive and well at Linn-Mar as evidenced by another successful district-wide Invention Convention held in the LRC Gym.

This was the second step for fourth graders from across the district. Each elementary school held their own Invention Convention earlier in the school year. The top prize winners from those events advanced to the district-wide event.

All the students have the opportunity to compete at Invent Iowa, a statewide event held April 27th in Des Moines. The district supplies the entry fee for the top winners of the district competition. Usually it’s the top ten winners. This year there was a tie, so eleven students and their projects were honored including:

Magnetic Cargo Containers, The Temp Taker, Test Bank, Hook Hanger, Glove Keeper, I Spy Unlucky Leprechaun, Pull-O-Hanger, The Transformable Tray, You’ve Got Mail Detector, Prostheticanator, and the Tidy Pig Pen.

Congratulations to all the participants!
