Miss Iowa Brings an Encouraging Message to Students

Mikhayla Hughes-Shaw, the current Miss Iowa, spoke with high school and middle school students at Linn-Mar to spread her message of HOPE (Helping Others and Providing Encouragement). She shared her own personal journey and outlined five steps that students can take to create their own successful path:

4. Have Confidence
5. Follow Your Dreams

Hughes-Shaw shared with students the importance of spreading mental health and suicide prevention awareness. She partnered with the HOPEWalk committee to make her Linn-Mar visit possible.
