A Salute to Excelsior Middle School!

This marks the 25th school year for the building we now know as Excelsior Middle School. The building has played an important role in the history of our ever-growing district.

All this week, we are saluting the students and staff that make Excelsior Middle School a great place to learn and grow.

Did you know? What is now Excelsior opened in 1995 as Linn-Mar Intermediate School for the district’s 5th and 6th graders.

In 1999, 5th graders were shifted to the elementary buildings, as the district’s fifth elementary school, Westfield, opened its doors.

The Excelsior building became Linn-Mar Middle School.

In 2003, Oak Ridge School opened and the district’s first Middle School was renamed Excelsior after one of the district’s original one-room schoolhouses.

The current Excelsior will become a 7th and 8th grade building next fall when Boulder Peak Intermediate opens its doors in August, 2020.
