The log in or log off screen is stuck for more than a few minutes.

This occurs when an update does not apply properly. Simply hold down the power button continuously for 20 seconds, then turn the computer back on. Occasionally the battery will be getting drained heavily while it is stuck so you may need to plug it in to a power outlet before it will turn back on.

I can’t access the Internet at school.

Check the wireless icon in the Windows taskbar, which will usually be in the lower right corner. If there is an exclamation point over the wireless icon then click on the icon and make sure that the computer is connected to the wireless network named “LM Student” and not something else.

I don’t have the Office 365 Icon on the desktop.

Reboot the computer and log on to see if it appears. May take several reboots but it should eventually show up.

Make sure that you are watching where your fingers are at on the trackpad. Use only one finger at a time. If you have another finger close to or on the trackpad, the trackpad could be registering the other finger and causing the misclick or windows opening.

The icons are too big
Some icons are missing
The screen is sideways
The computer looks like it has the windows start menu stuck on the screen.

The screen is stuck in tablet mode. Physically rotate the screen all the way back 180 degrees so the top cover is touching the bottom cover, it will ask to go into tablet mode, select ok, rotate the screen 90 degrees so it is upright in the standard position, it will ask to exit tablet mode, select ok

I can’t print / LMPrint isn’t available

  1. Click the magnifying glass, type in \\LMPrint\LMPrinting, press the Enter key, wait for the print queue to pop up, close that window
    1. if you already have a print window open close it, go back to print the file. you may need to select LMPrint from the drop down printer list

My password isn’t working.

  1. Check the password using the eye icon to show the password
  2. Make sure numlock isn’t on (WRITE DOWN KEYBOARD COMBO)
  3. Make sure that you aren’t using a comma ( , ) when you should be using a period ( . )
  4. Don’t have spaces in your username or password

For Teachers.

Have the student write down their password or get their username/password from the master list and try typing it in for the student.

  1. Have someone else log in to your computer, open up Software Center, then install the application under their account. This will make the application appear for your account too.
