Linn-Mar  High School

LMHS Pride Pantry

Linn Mar’s Pride Pantry is in full swing once again this school year! We continue to meet our student’s immediate food needs! We are amazed by our students, and not just here in our high school but other LM schools and parents within the district who donate to help our high school students.

With new shelving installed that was purchased from Student Council we have had several student volunteers eager to help restock this year’s donations from recent food-drives held by both LMHS Robotics Club and Student Council.

Linn Mar Pride Pantry “pays it forward”

Because we want to continue our Linn Mar pride to be a school of excellence a local non-profit organization that continues to help local families hit hard from the Derecho gladly took the Pride Pantry’s “expired” food items!  They were excited to receive the items and said families will thankfully take the “slightly expired” items.

Also, Linn Mar’s Jr. ALO & ALO Club’s community Spring project-The Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City- the Pantry donated pre-packaged and microwavable food items currently over-stocked in the Pantry!    Way to go Linn Mar Parents, Staff, Clubs & Students who donate to the Pride Pantry.  We truly are making a difference!

About the Pride Pantry

Feb Food Drive Pantry volunteersFeb FoodDrive overstockThe Pride Pantry currently distributes on a consistent basis roughly 200 backpack bags of food per school year, with the need rising. The Food Pantry also helps other individual students on a walk-in basis.

LMHS offers a High School Food Pantry called “Pride Pantry” to help our students in temporary need. It is supported entirely by donations!

What We Do

The Pride Food Pantry continually meets students’ needs as they arise.  Some needs are temporary, others are on-going. We provide a food bag with a few food items for students given every two-weeks! All of it is done in a discrete manner.  The number of needed bags continues to rise.  LMHS staff and students want to thank you for helping to keep LMHS Pride Food Pantry stocked and ready to help our students in need!

2021 DONORS: Cotton Gallery, LM District Staff, parents and students, LMHS Student Council, LMHS Robotics TEAM, LMHS Red Cross Club, LM Learning Resource Center staff, private community donors.
